A stolen Chevy pickup was
stopped by U.S. Marshall officers
and two men were arrested.
The U.S. Marshalls had been following
the vehicle for some time, looking for
Jeffery Whitt of Walker County on a
parole violation. Haleyville police were called to
make the arrest for the drugs. Jeffery Whitt was arrested along
with the driver of the pickup, Wesley Hernandez, and
transported to the Haleyville jail. A search of the vehicle revealed
chemicals used to manufacture
crystal meth. The Winston County hazard
material team was called to handle
the toxic substances found. Whitt and Hernandez were placed in
the Haleyville jail with plans to
transport them to the Winston County
Jail Friday. Formal charges will be made today
to include manufacturing and
trafficking of crystal meth. |
